Family & Friends - 50% Discount

• The ticket is valid for the day it is bought for an unlimited number of journeys.
• These tickets can only be used to travel at the weekends and public holidays and Carnival day. The ticket is only valid for the day it is purchased for (you must say what day, when you buy the ticket).
• The tickets can be bought up to 15 days in advance.
• The 50% discount applies to the price of two return tickets. Prices are rounded up to the nearest 5 cents.
• Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or special offers.
• On sale from ticket offices or on the train when boarding at stations without a ticket office.

Families and small groups of 3 to 9 people, one of whom is aged 13 or over, travelling together on return journeys in any class, can purchase the Family & Friends ticket.

It is valid for travelling on Saturdays on any Alfa Pendular or Intercidades train (except Intercidades 541 departing Lisbon Santa Apolónia at 08:15 for Guarda and Intercidades 544 departing Guarda at 18:07 for Lisbon Santa Apolónia on 23 and 30 March 2024), and on Sundays on the trains listed below, and offers 50% off the list price, rounded up to the nearest 50 cents. This reduction cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions in force, namely return, children and senior citizens.

The return journey can be made on Saturday or Sunday of the same weekend or any other weekend, subject to the validity of the ticket.

The ticket must be purchased at the same time for all members of the group, up to 60 days in advance, at CP ticket offices, travel agencies with a CP contract, or on the train when boarding at stations without ticket sales.

Whenever the outward, return or both journeys cannot be made in accordance with the commercial conditions established, the difference will be paid for the whole ticket, for the whole group.

Family & Friends can be exchanged for the same weekend or a subsequent one. However, whenever the exchange is requested for a train that is not included in those listed, the difference will be paid for the full ticket, always considering the return journey.

Family & Friends is refundable in accordance with the regulations.

 On Saturdays 23 and 30 March 2024, the discount is not valid for travel on Intercidades 541 trains departing Lisbon Santa Apolónia at 08:15 for Guarda and Intercidades 544 departing Guarda at 18:07 for Lisbon Santa Apolónia.

Families and small groups from 3 to 9 members that are purchasing return tickets together, with at least one of them being 13 years old or older, may benefit from Family&Friends.

If you are travelling on Saturdays and Sundays in the Regional, InterRegional and Coimbra Urban Trains, from and to any station, you can benefit from a 50% discount in the return ticket.

These journeys can be made in any train, as follows:

• Return ticket for that same Saturday;
• Departure on Saturday and returning on the following Sunday;
• Return ticket for that same Sunday;
• Departure on Saturday or Sunday, and returning on any following weekend, subject to the ticket validity.

The discount is applicable for journeys of the Regional, InterRegional and Coimbra urban trains only, or journeys carried out with one of these services as complement to an Alfa Pendular, Intercidades or Oporto Urban Trains service, if the purchasing conditions for getting the discount are complied with in both services.

The discount is granted over the listed price rounded to the higher €0.05 in the Coimbra urban services, and to the closest €0.05 in the Regional and InterRegional services.

This discount cannot be used together with other discounts or offers in force, namely for return tickets, children, senior citizens, youths. And others.

Tickets must be purchased at the same time for all members of the group, travelling on the same day, same train and with the same departure/arrival stations, until 60 days in advance, in CP ticket offices or on board the train if the station where you board does not have an available ticket office.

If these conditions are changed, you will have to pay the difference for the full ticket, including all members of the group and extent of the journey. 

Tickets can be reissued for the same weekend or a following weekend for the period during which the tickets are valid.

The tickets of the group can be refunded in accordance with the regulations.

This offer is valid between October and April.
