Occasional journeys Oporto urban trains
The Oporto urban trains have solutions for all different requirements.
If you are not a regular passenger but want to travel occasionally on the CP Oporto urban trains, we have a range of different kinds of tickets adapted to different needs that can be loaded onto a reusable card.
Passengers must buy their tickets from a ticket office, the ticket vending machines in the stations where they want to board or from payshop agents. In cases where there is nowhere to buy a ticket in or around the station, it can be bought on board the train so long as the passenger goes to the ticket inspector immediately after boarding.
Remember to validate your ticket before boarding your train. But don't validate your ticket more than 15 minutes before the scheduled arrival time for your train.

Conditions:
- children aged three and under travel for free, so long as they do not occupy a seat and do not need a ticket;
- children aged four to 12 inclusive, get cheaper tickets;
- everyone aged 65 or over can get half-price tickets is they can prove their age with ID containing a photoigraph and date of birth;
- retirees and pensioners who have a 'Cartão Dourado' for retirees/pensioners can get half-price tickets if they show their 'Cartão Dourado'.

These can be bought or topped up at ticket offices or ticket vending machines, no stopping on the journey. When you buy 10 tickets you get another one for free (10 + 1 tickets).

Family and Friends offers a 50% discount on the price of three single tickets applied individually and rounded up to the nearest 5 cents. Groups of 3 to 9 people, regardless of whether they belong to the same family, who travel together (minimum 1 adult).

A tourist travelcard lets you travel as often as you want on the Oporto urban train Aveiro, Braga, Guimarães and Marco lines for 24 or 72 hours. Choose the day and time for it to start when you buy the card.
