The Convent of Christ is the name generally given to the series of monuments composed of the Templars' Castle in Tomar, the Convent of the Order of Christ from the Renaissance period, the convent wall, the Hermitage of the Immaculate Conception and the convent aqueduct, also called the Pegões aqueduct.
All these sites, built over centuries, make up the Convent of Christ, a superb monumental complex that deserves the UNESCO World Heritage classification it was given in 1983.
