On-board ticket sales

The purchase of tickets on board trains is, as a rule, not permitted.

If the boarding station, or the area around the station (200 metres beyond the station boundary), has no means of sale available, you may purchase your ticket on board the train at no additional charge, provided that you contact the ticket inspector, before or immediately after boarding and before taking up your seat, to request the purchase of your ticket.

On board Urban trains, payment is made in cash only. On the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Interregional and Regional Trains, in addition to payment in cash, it is also possible to use a transport request or CP Mais card.
